Timetable

The Timetable module allows you to set up a weekly period schedule for each class. Teachers can view their personal timetable in the Teacher Portal, and students/parents can see the class timetable from their portals.

Setting Up the Timetable

Step 1: Define Time Periods (School Timings)

Before creating timetables, define the time slots your school follows:
  1. Go to Academics → Timetable
  2. Click Manage Periods (or Settings → Timetable Periods)
  3. Click Add Period
  4. Enter:
    • Period Name (e.g., Period 1, Assembly, Lunch Break)
    • Start Time and End Time
    • Type — Class Period or Break (breaks are non-assignable)
  5. Click Save
  6. Repeat for all time slots in your school day
Set up your periods once — they apply to all classes. A typical school might have 8 periods plus a lunch break, so you would create 9 entries total.

Step 2: Create Timetable Entries

  1. Go to Academics → Timetable
  2. Select the Class and Section from the filters
  3. You will see a grid: Days of the week (Mon–Sat) across the top, Periods down the left
  4. Click any empty cell to assign a subject and teacher to that slot
  5. In the popup:
    • Select Subject
    • Select Teacher (defaults to the assigned teacher for that subject in that class)
    • Click Save
  6. Repeat for all periods across all days
Each class-section can have its own unique timetable. Class 6-A and Class 6-B can have different schedules.

Editing the Timetable

To change a period entry:
  1. Click the cell you want to edit
  2. Update the subject or teacher
  3. Click Save
To remove a period entry (leave it free/empty):
  1. Click the cell
  2. Click Clear or Remove
  3. Confirm

Viewing Teacher Timetables

To see a consolidated view of what a specific teacher is teaching across all classes and days:
  1. Go to Academics → Timetable
  2. Switch the view toggle from Class View to Teacher View
  3. Select the teacher from the dropdown
  4. The grid now shows all classes this teacher is scheduled for
This is helpful to verify there are no time conflicts (a teacher assigned to two classes at the same time).
Micron will warn you if you try to assign a teacher to two different classes in the same period slot. Resolve conflicts before saving.

Timetable for Teachers (Teacher Portal)

Once the timetable is configured, teachers can view their personal schedule:
  1. Log in to the Teacher Portal
  2. Click Timetable in the sidebar
  3. The teacher sees their own weekly schedule — which class, which subject, at what time, each day of the week

Timetable for Parents

Parents can view their child’s class timetable from the Parent Portal under Academics → Timetable. This helps them know what subjects are scheduled each day.

Printing the Timetable

  1. Go to Academics → Timetable
  2. Select the class
  3. Click Print (top right)
  4. A print-friendly version opens in a new tab — use your browser’s Print (Ctrl+P) to print or save as PDF

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the timetable change automatically each academic year? No. You need to set up or update the timetable at the start of each academic year, or whenever there are schedule changes (e.g., new teacher joining, subject reassignment). Can I set a different timetable for different weeks (e.g., Week A / Week B)? Currently, Micron supports a single repeating weekly timetable per class. If your school uses alternating schedules, contact support to discuss your requirement. What happens on holidays? Are periods still shown? The timetable is a fixed weekly schedule. Holidays are managed separately in the Holiday Calendar (under Settings). On a holiday, attendance is not expected, but the timetable view does not change.
